Everything you need to know when you hire a live karaoke band

If you’re looking to hire a live karaoke band, here are the questions we’re asked most often. If you can’t see what you need, get in touch and we’ll put together a clear, personalised quote.

What kind of events and venues are you suitable for?

The Live Karaoke Band is ideal for corporate events, conferences, staff parties, awards nights, weddings, hotels, nightclubs, festivals, universities and student unions, birthdays and private parties. If there’s a stage (or a clear performance area) and a power supply, we can usually make it work.

Where do you travel to?

We’re based in the South of the UK and regularly perform across the UK, including London, the Midlands and the North. We can also travel to Europe and beyond for the right event. If you tell us your venue postcode, we’ll confirm availability and travel costs.

How does it work on the night?

Guests choose a song, come up to sing with a fully live professional band, and we run the show from the stage so it stays fun, quick and inclusive. Lyrics are provided on the night, and our singer will guide guests through if they get stuck.

Do we need to provide lyrics or learn songs from memory?

No. We provide lyrics on the night, and you can sing as confidently (or as bravely) as you like. The whole point is a brilliant live experience without pressure.

What if I want to sing a song that isn’t on your list?

If you have must-have songs, the best option is to request them in advance when you book (we’ll confirm what’s possible). On the night, we can sometimes have a go at an extra request, but we can’t guarantee it without prior notice.

Our venue has a noise limiter. Can you work with that?

Yes. We’re used to venues with sound restrictions and noise limiters and can adjust our setup and levels accordingly. If your venue regularly hosts live bands, it’s normally straightforward. If you have limiter details or a dB limit, send them over and we’ll advise.

What do you bring with you?

We can supply everything needed for a professional show, including PA and lighting. We also carry a haze machine (optional) and we do not use pyrotechnics. All equipment is PAT-tested and we have Public Liability Insurance.

How much space do you need?

As a guide, we’re a 5-piece band so a stage or clear performance area is best. If space is tight, tell us the approximate stage size (width x depth) and we’ll confirm what’s workable for your venue.

What power do you need?

Most events work well with standard, reliable mains power. Ideally we’ll have access to separate circuits for audio and lighting, but don’t worry if you’re not sure - tell us what the venue can provide and we’ll advise.

How long do you take to set up and soundcheck?

Setup times vary depending on access, stage layout and production requirements, but we’ll always agree an arrival time with you (and the venue) so everything is ready before guests sing.

Can guests request songs on the night?

Yes. Guests can choose from our set list on the night. If you’d like a curated shortlist (for example, “big singalongs only” or “80s/90s rock”), we can help tailor the vibe.

Do you provide a host?

Yes. We run the stage, keep the night moving, and make sure everyone feels welcome to join in - from confident singers to first-timers.

Can you perform outdoors?

Yes, as long as the band and equipment are fully covered from rain and direct sun, and there’s safe access to power. If you’re planning an outdoor event, tell us the setup and we’ll confirm requirements.

Is there anything you need from the venue?

The main things are safe access for loading, a suitable performance area, power, and any venue rules (sound limits, curfew, access times). Parking nearby is a big help - if it’s restricted, let us know in advance.

Are you insured?

Yes, we carry Public Liability Insurance, and our equipment is PAT-tested.

How do bookings and payments work?

Once you’re happy with the quote, we’ll confirm the details in writing and take a booking deposit to secure the date. The remaining balance is due before the event (we’ll confirm timings on your invoice/booking confirmation).
