For the majority of the guests sitting in the auditorium, it was a complete surprise when the curtain went up and The Live Karaoke Band and performers launched into the theme tune from Grease.

Surprise turned into excitement as they were told each team would be allocated a professional tutor, who in sixty minutes would teach them how to perform a well known song from the musical, live on stage and backed by The Live Karaoke Band.

And that's exactly what they did. The seven groups went off and superbly choreographed their own version of one of the following famous anthems from Grease:

• Summer Nights
• You're The One That I Want
• Greased Lightning, and
• We Go Together

Complete with a "Strictly" style judges panel, the winners of the evening were Team Scarlet Lady who got to keep their authentic T-Birds and Pink Ladies jackets.
