Rick Astley and Live Karaoke Band open Rewind Festival 2012

Rick Astley and his weekend band The Luddites, along with The Live Karaoke Band, kicked off this year's Rewind Festival at Henley-on-Thames with a spectacular Friday show for this year's weekend campers.

This year's Rewind Festival started at 6pm on Friday 17 August with an exclusive show for the 3,000 strong weekend campers as The Live Karaoke Band, the UK's favourite rockaoke band, shared the stage with living legend Rick Astley and his band The Luddites, performing their own set of classic rock covers.

With Rick on vocals and drums (yes, drums!), he was joined on stage by his band members Graham Stack and Simon Mattacks and performed a high-octane one-hour set of rock covers including: Song 2, Somebody Told Me, Times Like These, American Idiot, Seven Nation Army and Fight For Your Right To Party.

He was supported by three hours of bandeoke brilliance from The Live Karaoke Band for what has to be, genuinely, the best show ever, joined again by our friends from the irrepressible New York Brass Band.
